I am a British-Japanese writer currently based in London.

Born in Ehime, Japan, and raised in Birmingham, U.K., I have written about Japanese society, literature, and culture for national and international newspapers. My reporting was awarded the Swadesh DeRoy prize for young journalists by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan. I am currently working on my first book.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Oxford and a Master’s of Arts and Sciences from the University of Tokyo, where I studied under a full scholarship. 

I have also worked art, advertising and tech.
